from 16 reviewsThe Dazer is excellent at deterring dog from barking and against aggressive dogs with good hearing. It is first line of defence if you cannot avoid confrontation. Ten out of ten.
This is my second Dazer, the first one was well over 20 years old and bought to give me confidence when dogs ran up to me.
Now having my own dog, I found it very useful in curing a very annoying habit he had when meeting other dogs. If he regresses, I just give him a Daze to remind him ! It works for me
By chance one Amazon review of your product mentioned the need to buy from Tyna international with full UK guarantee, and good backup for that buyer. Your company is not listed as a seller at all by Amazon at all. I had to work my way through Google to find you. Now I've bought it the nasty dog I was hoping to deter has stopped harassing me. But I'm ready. (And I avoid Amazon if I can.)
Two days ago I received and immediatly placed one PestContoller in the pigeon loft where I have a mice problem. I also placed one on the stairs leading to the roof as somehow mice inter-connect with it through the double walls of the house even though the areas are quite some distance apart. More time is required for me to evaluate the full effect of the PestContoller, however, I can honestly say that the device works well as I observed dust and fine debris falling down from the roof; indicating that the mice are not comfortable with the ultrasonic sound and are moving off.
THIS IS MY SECOND DAZER.I bought it because my other one broke after about 6 years. I use it to deter farm dogs on my bike and it had had several high speed drops with no problems. I might add that it does work. Several people have reviewed that they tried it on pets. This is unlikely to work since the pet is in a home environment and is relaxed. Many dogs attack through fear aggression, in this situation the situation as far as the dog is concerned is unstable and anything which surprises it is likely to work. I read a review that someone tried it on an aggressive pitbull and it didn't work. They are bred to attack and be impervious to distraction regardless of pain, so it won't.
The Dog Dazer is an amazing device. It does exactly what it says. I have only used it twice and my dogs now stop barking when asked.
My dogs are always walked on leads, I purchased this product as last week they were attacked by a dog that was off lead. The owner made no attempt to control the other dog, I feel confident that this device will help should a similar situation arise.
Bought a Dazer before going off to Portugal to try and stop neighbours dogs barking every time we or the builders working on the property appeared on the terrace. The result was amazing, Pointed Dazer at them as soon as they appeared barking as usual, it was incredible, they immediately disappeared down into their house, after about three consecutive days use. when they saw us they scarpered, eventually we just pointed and off they ran. Taking more back for the builders they were amazed, It does not hurt them, they just don't like the high frequency.
I have had one of these Dog Dazers for a few years and unfortunately misplaced it so have taken immediate steps to replace it because is very effective and definitely keeps dogs at bay when I am out walking here in Cyprus. I was out walking on one of my usual routes, when suddenly a barking, snarling Alsatian came hurtling towards me at speed (it is usually behind a wall and must have somehow escaped). I always carry the Dog Dazer in my hand down this street and just stood my ground and held it out in front of me thinking "Are these my last moments? Whatever, I'll go down fighting!". I have never seen such an about turn - the dog just yelped and ran away as fast as it came. Whether it was attitude or Dog Dazer or a combination of both, I still heartily recommend this product based on my own experiences.
A vital bit of kit for me as dogs of any breed shape or size get in attack mode when they see me limping along. A quick press of the Dazer from within my pocket just pulls the dogs up and stops their desire to attack me; Don't go anywhere without it now I have one.
The seller are a first class storefront backing their product to the hilt in case of any issues - thank you Richard for your amazing service and support for giving me peace of mind with the Dazer
I used to love going for local walks around my area (rural), but used to be put off by the local farmer's dogs that'd often be behind their farm gates, but sometimes the gates would be left open.
This used to put me off going for walks and I actually found that to not only be a shame, but quite upsetting.
I purchased on of these and can categorically state that it DEFINITELY works !
I have tried it on ALL of the dogs which I encounter during my walks and their reactions are the same.
Here are my tips;
1) The dog needs to be close-ish - I've found that this device works even when the dog is 5-8 yards away.
2) Point the device at the dog.
3) If the dog is deaf, this device won't work so DON'T blame the device !
The reactions I get from the dogs which used to bark whenever I'd pass their farm gate is that they immediately stop and go away. In one instance I had a dog run at me, so I pointed and deployed the device at the dog and it basically shut up and did a u-turn !
This device DEFINITELY works and I now carry it with me whenever I go out for a walk.
Highly recommended.
I was excited to get this repeller because we’ve had some scary encounters with dogs off leads. At first I didn’t think it worked at all, then I pointed it at my ear and boy howdy did it hurt. I think if I was a dog and someone blasted my ear with this I’d run for the hills.
I have a few training issues with my dogs that needed some intensive work. One is a rather frenetic barker at every thing that goes on outside whilst in the house, and barks with excitement when going for a walk, or to a show, etc. which I really need to curtail. The other is an entire male adolescent who is now starting to respond to concentrated testosterone levels from other dogs by posturing at dog shows!
The Dazer certainly works on the barker! When she is barking, I quickly press the button whilst saying "Quiet!". By her reaction, a held tilt, pricked ears, and immediate silence, I know she has heard it. The Dazer breaks through her concentration better than my voice and any amount of shouting can. When she stops the bark, she receives immediate praise.
I know the male can hear it, and again, I believe it will break his concentration - which is what you really want when trying to alter a negative behavior. I've not had the opportunity to use it in situ and for the behavior I am trying to curb because we have not been on the show circuit since taking delivery. But, I have every confidence it will do the job.
I've seen other dogs who are near mine respond in different ways to the use when we are out. Some will give calming signals - turning head, licking lips, or turning away bodily, others will do the head tilt and inquisitive face.
I've only ever used it once in a sustained way. That was on a dog who was attacking another. It had no effect on the attacking dog (compressed air broke the attack and sent her off tail between legs). But on some of the surrounding non combative dogs the Dazer actually had them dispersing.
Based on what I have seen I don't think I would trust the Dazer as an infallible deterrent to an attacking dog - unless it is feral and not used to people. Even then I wouldn't trust it completely. But, as a training tool that for the most part breaks through the intense concentration of the behavior at the moment, it is brilliant. It gives you a chance to correct, and re-enforce with praise.
I live in an area with a lot of irresponsible dog owners. They constantly let their dogs off the lead, despite signs asking to keep them on leads. Unfortunately, I seem to be a magnet for all these dogs - running up right at me, and jumping up on me.
Understandably, i do not want random, strange dogs, constantly running up very close to me, and jumping up at me - it feels very threatening to my safety.
So, i decided to buy this product (nearly £50), and also buy a cheap imitator claiming to do the same thing (only £3), and conduct my own little experiment - as to which product seemed to work better.
This product is definitely the best one, by far.
Instead of having random, strange dogs take one look at me, and come running straight at me, and try to jump up - now, while using Dazer, they still come running towards me, but STOP 1/2 metre away!
This was very exciting and relieving for me - the first time it happened, and every single time it's happened since! Just delighted.
Now, when pressing the Dazer sturdy button, aiming in the direction of the dog - the approaching dog, stops nearby, and either stays there till i've passed, or the dog changes it's direction and goes past me, without any contact!
What a joy! Since i've been using it, not a single dog has touched me, or brushed up against me, or run up and jumped at me!
However, it seems to have a stronger effect on some dogs, and less on other dogs. Maybe this has to do with the dog's age and hearing ability?
The only other slight drawback, is that when dogs are running towards you, zig-zagging, and changing direction (eg left to right) you have to swap hands quickly with the Dazer - to use it in time, to work.
To solve that problem, i shall be buying a second one - so i can have a Dazer in each hand!
There have also been a couple of dogs, who have visibly made a scrunched up face, and recoiled their heads, when the Dazer was used! Loved every second of that - for all the aggro i've had to put up these bad dogs with over the years harassing me, before discovering this great product. Thank you Amazon for carrying this product!!
In a perfect world, i would love to see dogs stop and physically run away in the opposite direction - but sadly the Dazer is just not powerful enough for that.
However, the Dazer has consistently had a far greater and visible effect on dogs (compared to cheap imitator products), and is a far more discrete gray coloured product to have in your hand.
Final verdict - totally worth £50, for the peace of mind, and relief, and feeling of safety you'll experience.
If you are looking for a really great product, that has consistently worked in stopping random, strange dogs running up right at you, and jumping on you, buy the Dazer - it's worth the extra money!
Be sure to read and follow the instructions that come with it - for maximum benefit.
